A unique “Flybrary” was inaugurated at the new terminal of Tiruchirappalli International Airport, offering passengers an opportunity to read books while waiting for their flights. According to *The Hindu*, the initiative has been launched by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in association with the Tiruchi chapter of the Bharat Scouts and Guides to encourage reading habits and make airport waiting time more productive.
The Flybrary features a collection of books in both Tamil and English covering literature, history, self-development, biographies and children’s reading material. Passengers can browse and read books free of charge within the airport premises. The Hindu reported that the facility is intended to create a more engaging travel experience while promoting a culture of reading among travellers of all age groups.
Airport officials expressed hope that the initiative would be well received by passengers and could serve as a model for similar facilities at other airports. The Flybrary adds another passenger-friendly feature to Tiruchi Airport’s new terminal, which has been developed to enhance customer experience and showcase the region’s culture and hospitality.
