Air India Express to hire trainee pilots from IGRUA

New Delhi :Budget carrier Air India Express today said it plans to recruit 40 trainee pilots and majority of them would be from Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA).

Rae Bareli-based IGRUA, which comes under Civil Aviation Ministry, has not seen placement activity since 2012 when some students were hired by Air India.

Air India Express is operated by Air India Charters Ltd, which is a subsidiary of national carrier Air India.

Air India Charters plans to hire 40 trainee pilots and majority of them would be from IGRUA, its Chief of Human Resources, T Vijayakrishnan told PTI.

The institute received a letter from Air India Charters dated July 16, 2015 saying that it proposes to source some of the trainee pilots from among the graduates of the institute, IGRUA spokesperson Ram Kishor Dwivedi said.
