Aviation course takes off as University of Pune joins hands with US academy

Pune: After the much touted MTech aviation course of the University of Pune, which was introduced by the varsity in collaboration with Germany-based flying institute Fachschule fur Luftfahrzeugfuhrer (FFL) failed to attract students due to the financial feasibility, the varsity has now reached for help from the United States (US) and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a Florida-based flying academy.

The varsity claims that this collaboration will sort out the issues of financial feasibility and the fees will be somewhere between Rs30 lakh and Rs35 lakh, which is way less compared to the earlier one where the costing of the entire course was beyond Rs70 lakh.
Vice Chancellor of University of Pune, who was on the tour of United States of America and Canada for the last 15 days, said that they have decided to keep both the options: FFL and Dean Aviation school, open for students.

“Currently there are six students who have taken admissions for MTech aviation Course in which they were supposed to complete one semester in India and rest three semesters in Germany, however after this MoU with Miami based aviation school, five students have chosen to go for USA based aviation course and only one student has opted for FFL, Germany,” he said.

He claimed that the school has as many as 48 aircrafts, they have their own private airport, a full fledged workshop and professional staff.

  1. Dean International is a good school with most of instructor’s are Indian or Bangladeshi or from rest of the third world countries. So Indian student’s will not struggle with english. There will be opportunity to work as instructor for free and chances are once you are experienced and find a bride or a groom with green card you can join American Airlines once you have ATPL. The deal is good 35 Lakhs is peanuts. One more thing they do not have private airport but operate from Ta Miami airport privately run but shared with 100 company’s.
