IATA introduces course on passenger ground services

Mumbai: In order to overcome the present challenges in the aviation industry, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) introduced a course – IATA Passenger Ground Services – in December 2012, specially designed to complement the training requirements outlined in the IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM), the IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO), and the Passenger Services Conference Resolutions Manual (PSCRM). The course is mainly designed for airline, airport or ground handling agents passenger service staff.
Speedwings Aviation Academy in Kochi is the first authorised training centre to launch this course in India. The course was launched by Hiby Eden, Member of Legislative Assembly of Ernakulam, late last month at Speedwings auditorium, The Apron. Tony Chammany, Mayor of Ernakulam, and a large fraternity from the airline industry also witnessed the function. In his keynote address, Eden stressed on the need for trained personal in the aviation sector as growth in the industry has opened up a new arena in the job sector.
