Aviation University grounded

At the recently-concluded International Civil Aviation Exhibition, industry leaders have been upbeat about the possible growth in the sector. However, the resurgence spurred by conducive market environment and government policies is struggling to maintain its momentum due shortage of skilled manpower.

This is where the long-awaited Aviation University comes into the picture. It will provide courses and training in various disciplines required for the development of the industry. With its excellent infrastructure and comparatively low cost of living, the City is a natural candidate for becoming a major aviation hub.
However, the plans are virtually in the hangar as there has been no movement for the last seven years beyond making announcements and writing letters to the PM.
At the Begumpet Airshow, minister for civil aviation Ajit Singh said, “We are keen to set up world class training and education infrastructure for the aviation sector. To bridge the shortage of skilled personnel in aviation sector, we propose to set up a full-fledged university.” But little help has been coming from the Centre all this while.

  1. Thousands of trainee pilots, engineers and other crew are currently jobless even after several years of their graduation. Instead of hiring and training freshers, all airlines, including national airline Air India are looking for short-cuts like hiring expat pilots etc. Wake-up Ajit Singh and see the ground reality.

  2. utter bull shit , instead of starting a new university and adding more to unemployment , spoiling lives of innocent students , they should first make ame a degree if they really concerened about skilled manpower . thousands of innocent ame students and pilots are still cursing themselves due wrong policies of dgca and aviation ministry . its high time for dgca to have a retrospect of its own policies .
