CAPA AeroPark advances aviation training campus

Chennai/ Bangalore: CAPA AeroPark, an aviation university and training campus being developed in India, today announced plans to bring forward its launch date in response to calls from the industry.
The CAPA AeroPark is expected to service the training needs for India, West Asia and Asia, and is projected to handle over 10,000 students per annum by 2015.
Peter Harbison, Chairman, CAPA AeroPark, said, “Since we announced in November 2010 that CAPA and SCDC had entered into a $125 million JV to establish CAPA AeroPark, the response from airlines and airports has been overwhelming. There is quite clearly an urgent need for training to support the 20 per cent market growth being seen in India.”
Harbison added, “Besides the civil aviation requirements, announcements at Aero India 2011 have demonstrated huge potential in the aerospace sector, in both research and manufacturing. But this requires a skilled workforce with specialist education and expertise. CAPA AeroPark will enable the emergence of these new industries in India, resulting in a significant positive contribution to economic development.”
