{"id":599,"date":"2008-03-19T08:03:00","date_gmt":"2008-03-19T08:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indianaviationnews.net\/avicareers\/?p=599"},"modified":"2008-03-19T08:03:00","modified_gmt":"2008-03-19T08:03:00","slug":"indian-students-walk-away-from-nz-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indianaviationnews.net\/careers\/2008\/03\/indian-students-walk-away-from-nz-crash.html","title":{"rendered":"Indian students walk away from NZ crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 0, 0);font-size:180%;\" >T<\/span>wo aviation students yesterday walked away after their plane flipped and landed upside down on an area of runway ploughed for resowing at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.classicfighters.co.nz\/omaka\/index.shtml\">Omaka Aerodrome<\/a> near <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityofblenheim.co.nz\">Blenheim<\/a>.<br \/>The Indian students on board the Cessna 150 were shaken but uninjured in the crash which happened just after 3pm.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marlboroughaeroclub.co.nz\">Marlborough Aero Club<\/a> secretary Ginetta Pali said the plane nosedived into the ground and flipped over.<br \/>&#8220;We rushed out and fortunately they were OK,&#8221; she said. That area of the grass runway had been disc-ploughed for resowing and was marked, she said. &#8220;They were supposed to land next to it.&#8221;<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.associatedaviation.co.nz\/home.php\">Associated Aviation<\/a> business manager John Read said the woman student pilot, who had her private pilot&#8217;s licence, was on a cross-country training flight from <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Paraparaumu\">Paraparaumu<\/a> to Omaka.<br \/>The pilot and her passenger, who was also a student at the flying school, were from India. There were more than 200 Indian students learning to fly in New Zealand, he said. The plane had not nose-dived and it was a minor incident.
