{"id":2256,"date":"2018-07-25T11:04:50","date_gmt":"2018-07-25T11:04:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indianaviationnews.net\/careers\/?p=2256"},"modified":"2018-07-30T11:05:39","modified_gmt":"2018-07-30T11:05:39","slug":"airlines-asked-to-reduce-dependence-on-foreign-pilots-government","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indianaviationnews.net\/careers\/2018\/07\/airlines-asked-to-reduce-dependence-on-foreign-pilots-government.html","title":{"rendered":"Airlines asked to reduce dependence on foreign pilots: Government"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi: All the scheduled and non-scheduled airlines in the country have been asked to reduce dependence on foreign pilots whose number at present stands at 266, the government informed Parliament today.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153To overcome the shortage of pilots, all scheduled and non-scheduled airlines have been advised to develop their own in-house strength to reduce the dependence on foreign pilots,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha informed the Rajya Sabha today.<\/p>\n<p>The Foreign Aircrew Temporary Authorisation (FATA) provision has also been extended up to December 31, 2020 to cover the shortage of pilots, the Minister said in a written reply. According to the reply, Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India has engaged the highest number of 55 foreign pilots followed by 46 pilots recruited by IndiGo.
