{"id":1996,"date":"2015-09-11T19:03:47","date_gmt":"2015-09-11T19:03:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indianaviationnews.net\/careers\/?p=1996"},"modified":"2015-09-24T19:17:45","modified_gmt":"2015-09-24T19:17:45","slug":"whanganui-to-establish-flight-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indianaviationnews.net\/careers\/2015\/09\/whanganui-to-establish-flight-school.html","title":{"rendered":"Whanganui to establish flight school"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wanganui District Council Holdings chair Matthew Doyle said it had bought Flight Training Manawatu for $800,000 and planned to relocate it from Feilding Aerodrome to Whanganui Airport.<br \/>\nThe deal includes four planes, flight simulators and associated equipment.<br \/>\nMr Doyle said the purchase was strategic and would help to maximise the use of existing airport assets.<br \/>\n&#8220;We have considered other flight training possibilities in the past but they have involved excessive commercial risk.<br \/>\n&#8220;However, Flight Training Manawatu is a profitable business with full certification and provides quality tuition and customer service, with a well-earned reputation for excellent pilot training.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe current flight school offers three strands of the two-year NZ Diploma of Aviation programme, general aviation, instructor and airline preparation.<br \/>\nAt the end of August it had 42 students and 13 staff, including 11 instructors.
