{"id":1533,"date":"2011-11-23T02:05:23","date_gmt":"2011-11-23T02:05:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indianaviationnews.net\/careers\/?p=1533"},"modified":"2011-11-23T02:05:23","modified_gmt":"2011-11-23T02:05:23","slug":"pilot-training-taking-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indianaviationnews.net\/careers\/2011\/11\/pilot-training-taking-off.html","title":{"rendered":"Pilot training taking off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dunedin, New Zealand: Trainee pilots flocking from the northern hemisphere are expected to earn their wings in Southern skies next year as Mainland Air Services helps fill a predicted void in the number of airline pilots.<br \/>\nMainland owner Mark Paterson said the downturn in international travel created by 9\/11 and the global economic crisis had caused airlines to stop training pilots.<br \/>\nInternational travel was now starting to pick up again, airlines were placing large orders for new aircraft, and did not have enough pilots to fly them, he said.<br \/>\n&#8220;There&#8217;s a massive shortage of pilots worldwide.<br \/>\n&#8220;Each plane needs large numbers of pilots to fly them because they run 24\/7.<br \/>\n&#8220;So, we&#8217;re finding there&#8217;s a lot of demand for pilot training at the moment.
