{"id":1386,"date":"2011-03-22T15:31:43","date_gmt":"2011-03-22T15:31:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indianaviationnews.net\/careers\/?p=1386"},"modified":"2011-03-22T15:31:43","modified_gmt":"2011-03-22T15:31:43","slug":"scan-on-flight-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indianaviationnews.net\/careers\/2011\/03\/scan-on-flight-schools.html","title":{"rendered":"Scan on flight schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\">New Delhi:<\/span> The aviation regulator is considering \u00e2\u20ac\u0153looking into\u00e2\u20ac\u009d 10,000 commercial pilot licences and will conduct a third-party audit of flying schools after six cases of licence fraud were detected among pilots.<br \/>\nThe directorate-general of civil aviation (DGCA) has planned the steps as the licence forgery cases have given rise to fears that incompetent pilots are endangering travellers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 lives.<br \/>\nThe regulator is also worried that a large number of Indian youth nowadays go abroad for training to become pilots and return with fake or invalid licences.<br \/>\nBesides the six cases of forgery, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153we have got some more suspicious cases but there is nothing confirmed as yet and investigations are going on\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, DGCA chief E.K. Bharat Bhushan said.<br \/>\nTwo pilots of IndiGo and two of SpiceJet were found to have used forged mark sheets to get licences. An Air India pilot and one from MDLR are also being probed for similar offences.<br \/>\nAll the 4,000-odd holders of airline transport pilot licences are being probed and the DGCA is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153considering looking into all the commercial pilot licence holders,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he said.
