Union Civil Aviation Minister, Ashok Gajapathi Raju said that the Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU) which will facilitate and promote aviation studies and research all over the country, will start functioning very soon at Fursatganj, Amethi. The minister was on inspection of the 50 km land of the academy in Fursatganj while he announced, “Very soon the proposed university will start functioning.”
The minister further counter attacked Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on his allegation that his constituency Amethi and Raebareli are being neglected by the NDA government for long. The minister said, “This question must be raised before Rahul Gandhi himself. He may clear it better.”
The minister further talked about the shortage of training aircrafts in the country for training pilots and said, there would be improvement soon in this regard. He said that the ratio between the number of trainee pilots and the aircrafts would soon come at par. In his visit the Aviation Minister also visited different sections of the academy and asked the concerned staff to improve the facilities in the academy for the students. The academy would act as a budding ground for future pilots and flight commanders. These academies would encourage students to take up civil aviation as career opportunities and more and more such talented pilots could come up every year through these institutions and academies.
