DGCA Talent Hunt on after Govt Nod

New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), country’s aviation regulator, is all set to recruit technical staff to carry out crucial safety and training jobs.
According to sources in the Civil Aviation Ministry, several steps were taken in the last three years to fill the vacancies, but nearly 35 per cent positions are still remain unoccupied. The DGCA has a total sanctioned strength of 950 officials.“Most of the vacancies are in the technical section and the directorate is mulling to recruit officials on contract basis due to the complex recruitment process. The DGCA is not empowered to hire a single employee without prior sanction. In fact, group ‘A’ technical posts, which were created some three years ago, are yet to be filled because of the complex process of sending proposals and getting it approved,” sources said.
Sources also added that they would soon start the hiring process following a green signal from the government to provide competitive salary to new recruits from the market instead of seeking UPSC route, which took a lot of time.

Funny post. Downgraded and talent less DGCA searching for talent. DGCA has risen from heaven and all other aviation professionals and organisations in this country have emerged from some gutter. This is what the attitude of our esteemed DGCA is.They take 2 months to issue an IR or endorsement,3 months to conduct a technical specific paper,2 months to issue a class1 medical sheet which never reaches your address but they take no longer than 1 second to wrongly interpret a rule against the very spirit of the rule. They are a bunch of rotten clerical non aviation idiots headed by an IAS who has never made decision in his life but kept moving the files like a postman. God somebody tell this organisation that a profession which requires split second correct decision between life and death can not be governed by incompetent and snail paced attitude and aptitude of people who know nothing except having chai paan n bidi all day.
