Nagpur Flying Club to split flying hours between Nagpur, Amravati

Nagpur: The Nagpur Flying Club (NFC) will distribute its flying hours between Nagpur and Amravati airspace. Though this decision has been taken following the plans to recarpet the runway, NFC also has a long term vision behind this step. “As the city and the airport grow, the airspace over Nagpur will become more and more congested. It will become difficult for us to find slots for training our pilots. Hence, having an alternate airspace will be beneficial for us,” said MAH Khan, NFC in-charge. The NFC has already sent a request to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for the required permissions to start alternate flying operations in Amravati. “DGCA representatives had come down and assessed the airport. They had pointed out certain additional requirements upon which we have worked and resent the proposal. We will surely get the required permissions by the first week of December,” said Khan.
