DGCA asked to set up forum for redressal of pilot grievances

New Delhi: In an attempt to look into the concerns of the pilots, who give in-service examinations for promotions, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh has directed the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to institute a forum for redressal of complaints of harassment filed by them.
“A lot of pilots do not even get to know the reasons behind not clearing the test. A proper format for these also needs to be prepared so that and the reasons for the failure of a particular pilot is also informed to him. These steps will help in making the system transparent,” said a senior civil aviation ministry official.
The step has been taken keeping in view a large number of complaints of favouritism and harassment in various in-service examinations conducted by examiners of airlines for their pilots.
