Air India Express Recruits Type Rated Co-Pilots

Air India Charters Limited invites applications for the posts of Type Rated Co-Pilots to fill up the existing vacancies in Air India Express (on Contract basis subject to change into permanent employment on obtaining Command).  Applicants should be Indian Citizens (wherever domiciled) belonging to General /Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Class Community.
A total of 40 vacancies exist for experienced Type Rated Co-Pilots & non experienced Type Rated Co-Pilots.

Educational & Technical qualification

For both categories the candidates should’ve passed Higher Secondary (10 + 2) or its equivalent examination with (Physics & Maths). Graduates in Engineering / B.Sc.(Maths and Physics) / B.Sc.(Aviation)/B.IT (inclusive of Maths & Physics) will be given due weightage.

In addition to the abouve education qualification, the candidates should be in possession of:

  • Commercial Pilot’s Licence, issued by Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt of India which should be current at the time of application.(Candidates with higher licences can also apply).
  • Endorsement on B737-800NG Aircraft (which should be valid & current) at the time of application.
  • Instrument Rating endorsement on Indian CPL / ATPL on B737-800NG Aircraft (which should valid & current) at the time of application.
  • FRTO Licence issued by DGCA (which should be valid and current at the time of application).
  • RTR(P)/RTR(C)/RTR issued by Ministry of Communication, WPC Wing, Govt. of India (Which should be valid and current at the time of application).

Experience
For experienced Type Rated Co-Pilots:

  • Minimum 500 Hrs Airline experience as P2 on B737-800 NG

For non experienced Type Rated Co-Pilots:

  • No Experience or Less than 500 Hrs Airline experience as P2 on B737-800 NG

(Candidates holding ALTP licence; Candidates with more than 1500 hrs airline experience; Candidates having actual Command experience on Jets/Multi Engine Turboprop transport aircraft will be given due weightage.

Age limit (As on 01.06.2010)
For Pilots holding CPL with Current Type Rating

  • 40 years for GEN candidates
  • 43 years for OBC & 45 years for SC/ST candidates

For Pilots holding ALTP Licence, and having a 500 hours or more airline experience on type as P2

  • 45 years for all categories of candidates

Selection will be based on written test, psychometric evaluation, personal interview & simulator proficiency Test

Since the advertisement is open for 3 months, selection process will be held on a month-to-month basis. Accordingly, the candidates will be called for the selection in that particular month depending upon the date of receipt of their applications.
As Trainee Co-Pilots, during the period of training, the selected candidates will be paid a stipend of Rs.30,000/- per month.
As Co-Pilots they will be placed in the pay scale of Rs.13000-225-13675-275-14775- 325-16400 with total emoluments of approximately Rs.1,99,583/- per month.
Pilots holding ALTP licence will be eligible for an additional payment of Rs.10,000/- per month.

• GEN and OBC candidates should submit a non-refundable fee of Rs.1000/- in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favor of Air India Charters Limited, payable at Mumbai along with their application. (SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of this fee).

Such candidates however are required to deposit the Demand draft at the time of reporting for the selection process.

This advertisement remains open for a period of approx. 3 months. The last date of acceptance of application is 30th September 2010. Since this is an ongoing Selection process, candidates must submit their application on or before the 15th day of respective month (i.e. for the selection process of July, all applications must be received on or before 15th July). The applications which are received after 15th day of that particular month shall be taken up for the selection in the subsequent month.
